Of all the memorable moments on our trip west, the most striking came daily as our hybrid hurdled west, chasing the sun as it effortlessly dipped into the horizon. We were grateful to have sunsets as our guide, leading us to the edge of the world.
Click on any of the images for a better view of these pictures, when the crepuscular light muscles its way through the clouds or when the sun’s flames make the sky its watercolor and the water’s color look like flames.
We often turn the stars into animals and people — queens on thrones and bears chasing scorpions — but we turn the sunset into our dreams: the faint glow of our future, lightyears ahead of us, with the promise of a new day. Enjoy this small collection of my dreams, each carefully maintained in pixellated, .JPG format.
